To craft my suit, I ensured I had images of the main Airsoft site I'd be using. This way, I could do my best to match my suit to that area.
First, I dyed the leaves in a steel container and kept a close eye on them until I was happy with the colour. You're better off taking them out too early than too late as you can always put them in dye again and they look a lot darker when wet.
I then cut some cheap brown netting into little bits and when attaching my leaves to my suit with the zip ties, I put a piece of this underneath scrunched up to help give the suit some depth.
When adding these, I made the back of my suit and hood the priority to craft as this is what would mostly be seen by enemy players.
Once some depth had been added, I then focused on adding the ivy leaves, raffia and coconut hair. The coconut hair is good as it can imitate random parts on the woodland floor and it's very cheap.
The raffia is something I've learnt how to add correctly. For it to be super effective, I add the lighter colours in longer pieces to look like long bits of dried grass or even twigs. With the fresh green colours which look more like growing grass, I've added in shorter quantities to look like little patches of grass growing.
Once I'm happy with my suit, I then add hair bands with a zip ties so there's two loops and this allows me to add real vegetation to the suit.
One of the key things to remember when crafting a suit is that nature doesn't have patterns, it's random. So make sure your suit looks random. It can have a section full of ivy leaves and a section with raffia. Suits tend to look awful when looking at them away from nature.
The total cost for suit like this is roughly : £150 / €163
The total amount of time for a suit like this (not including drying time) is roughly: 6 hours
